Why Adopt from BARKS?

When you adopt from BARKS, you help more than one dog. We work with animal welfare partners across Alberta on everything from individual seizure files to large scale rescue operations. Every time one of our dogs finds a home, it opens a kennel for another dog who needs urgent help.

Before any dog is made available for adoption, they are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, examined by a veterinarian, and given a behavior assessment. Many of the hardest first steps have already been taken so you can focus on settling in and building your life together.

We are always here after you adopt. We're local, easy to reach, and we always want to hear how things are going. If you have questions, hit a rough patch, or want to share a happy update, you will be talking to people who know your dog and will always be rooting for you both.
